Playing is fun, as long as it is done safely. That’s why Sanjes Safari has a set of house rules. We trust the children and parents/guardians to respect these rules.
- A visit to the Sanjes Safari play park and/or animal park is always at your own risk, the supervisor is expected to supervise your own children
- Sanjes Safari is not liable in case of theft or loss of your belongings/property
- Children under 15 years of age enter only when accompanied by an adult
- We are a smoke-free park. You can smoke outside in the parking lot.
- We do not serve alcohol to visitors under the age of 18. If in doubt, ID proof will be asked for.
- You are not allowed to bring your own alcoholic beverages and consume them in the park.
- Pets are not allowed
- Animals may not be fed unless otherwise specified
- Climbing over the animal enclosure fence is not permitted
- The soft play corner is only for children up to 4 years old.
- It plays best without shoes on! Take off your shoes before entering the attractions in the courtyard.
- The staff constantly monitors safety. Listen to their instructions.
Yes indeed; free wifi is available in the park.
Dogs are not allowed in the park.
We make an exception for service dogs: they are welcome, provided they are clearly identified as service dogs.
With a gluten allergy/intolerance, options in our kitchen are limited at this time:
French fries do not contain gluten. Upon request, we can prepare this in a separate oven. This prevents cross contamination. The fries can be served with ketchup or applesauce or a sachet of (gluten-free) mayo.
If you would like the fries prepared gluten-free, it is best to let our staff know as soon as you arrive. Then we can ensure that the oven is turned on in time for you to eat at the same time.
You are further allowed to bring your own food and drinks.
SanjesSafari does not adopt animals from private individuals. For purchase/sale/exchange of animals we have our established contacts.
No, these are not allowed in the park. Only medical devices are allowed.
Accessibility
Sanjes Safari is located on the Centrale As (N356) between Dokkum and Bergum. At the exit from the Centrale As there are brown signs that you can follow to get to Sanjes Safari.
From the nearest bus stops, it is now about a 20-minute walk to the park.
Train
Take the local train on the Leeuwarden – Groningen route and get off at Feanwâlden. From here you can continue traveling by bus.
Bus
Get on line 7183: this (bell) bus runs on call from Feanwalden station. Get off at bus stop De Falom. Walk from here to Sanjes Safari.
Line 55: this bus runs on the route Drachten – Burgum – Feanwalden – Damwald – Dokkum. This line runs 1x per hour on weekdays and Saturdays. In Feanwâlden there is a connection to the train to and from Groningen from both Dokkum and Burgum. The nearest stop can be found at Oastein, Feanwalden. Walk from here to Sanjes Safari.
In front of the entrance to Sanjes Safari you can park for free in our spacious parking lot.
Both the play and animal park are accessible to the disabled. Disabled toilets are available in both buildings.
The Nature Museum is only accessible by stairs and therefore the only section unfortunately not accessible to the disabled.
We have 2 wheelchairs available for use upon request. There is no further charge for this.
Reserving a wheelchair can be done by sending us an email. This can be sent to informatie@sanjessanjessafari.nl.
No, at this time we do not have charging stations in our parking lot.
Children’s parties
Yes, as an adult you have the option to also use the children’s party package or to pay the separate entrance fee and buy refreshments in the kitchen. If you use the children’s party package, 2x coffee/tea is included for adults.
Per children’s party, 2 adults can use the children’s party package.
Bringing your own pastries is allowed.
For a fee of €1 per person, you can use our plates and forks.
If you come with a group of more than 10 people, you can also use our family arrangement with cake and 2x coffee/tea/cappuccino. Then we will take care of this for you.
Subscriptions
We offer 2 types of subscriptions:
- a 3-month subscription at €34.50 p.p.
- an annual subscription at €52.50 p.p.
Subscriptions can be purchased at the box office. We will then ask you to fill out a form and take photos of the season ticket holders on the spot. These photos are linked to the pass. At each visit the pass is scanned and we can see who has a subscription. The subscription is personalized.
Want to give a subscription as a gift? You can! A gift certificate can be purchased for this purpose. Please send an email to informatie@sanjessafari.nl for this.
Gift Certificate
Want to give a day at Sanjes Safari as a gift? Great fun! We sell admission tickets for this at the daily price of admission. These tickets are valid until 31-12-2027. Tickets are available at the box office.
Would you like them sent to you? Then you can too. Send an email with your address to informatie@sanjessafari.nl. In that case we ask you to transfer the cost of the tickets + the shipping costs á €3,50 (free for orders > €150,-) in advance.
Giving an annual subscription as a gift is also possible. In that case, send an email to informatie@sanjessafari.nl and we will coordinate further with you.
